Re: Mud engineer's training schoolScroll Up
Dear Jean,

The three major global mud companies - MI Fluids, HES Baroid; BH inteq run induction and advanced courses for their new employees and staff. Likewise, OGS (Harry Dearing) for their parent Newpark Drilling Fluids. As a customer you may be able to attend.

For independent tuition outside any product line bias and/or sales agendas try www.westport1.com/MudSchool00.html - Westport Technology, Houston - which among many subjects run drilling fluid courses.
Also www.sinclairservices.com for their mud school in conjunction with Wyo-Ben and/or Oklahoma Mud School (director@goodlove.com = George Landry)
The first basic drilling fluids course from PSAC - Petroleum Services Association of Canada - was held in April, 1997.
For information on proposed future courses contact Elizabeth Aquin, Coordinator of Operations at (403)781-7382 or e-mail to: eaquin@psac.ca.
As well look at www.ogci.com/Services/Training/courses/BDF.htm

You can supplement these courses by distance learning from organisations like Petex.

Good Luck,
Best regards,
Robin Davies.

Re: Mud engineer's training schoolScroll Up
Dear Sir,

We as manufacturers and Exporters of GUMPRO DRILLING FLUIDS and ADDITIVES, have been training our own mud engineers for our operations by training them in our own laboratory and with our own teaching staff.

Recently we have started the same for others also in the name of GUMPRO MUD SCHOOL, which has three different courses

1) Fresher course - beginners course which is also for non technical staff working for oil and drilling companies, like drilling staff, logging, tool pushers personnel etc.

2) Refreshers course :- which is specially designed for the personnel who have worked in mud companies and for refreshing their knowledge and testing for new parameters.

3) Advance course for personnel who are for subjects for designing mud systems for deepwater drilling, directional drilling and to know the problems during the operations and combating them with maintaining the fluid behavior.

Each course also includes the testing of the mud parameters, and testing of mud chemicals, used during the operations in our own lab which is ISO 9001 certified.

You can very well join for the new batch for advance course which is beginning form 8th of May till 14th of May .

If your team is more than 4 persons, we can very well have a separate session also.

The teaching faculties are masters in their subjects and with the training in field for more than 35 years.

Re: Mud engineer's training schoolScroll Up
I have currently been in contact with Halliburton official who is assigning me to go to the next class available. It will be a few weeks before I will hear from the Halliburton offical but I would like to know a few things. When does the next class start? Also, do most companies pay a salary for the training or does the employer "myself" have to provide payment for this course? I am new to this field therefore I am unaware of most of the standard procedures such as trainees pay, ect. Could you please forward this information to me.

Respectfully;
BP
